Installing Apache on Arch-Linux

Overview: 

Apache is one of the most popular web servers. To run Drupal locally, you must have a web server running locally which servers it. The following steps describe how to install apache on your system running Arch linux OS.

Steps: 

1. You can install apache on your system by running the following pacman command
sudo pacman -S apache

2. After installing, you can start it by running the following command
sudo systemctl start httpd

3. To check that the web server is running correctly, do to the following urls on your browser and you will see the default apache page
http://localhost or http://127.0.0.1

4. To stop apache webserver, run
sudo systemctl stop httpd

5. You can run the following command to make apache start automatically everytime your system starts up.
sudo systemctl enable httpd
